Multi-talented actress, Selenis Leyva can currently be seen starring as Gloria Mendoza, the quick-witted Latina in the Netflix hit series, Orange is the New Black. Selenis may be a recognizable face to internet viewers, but her career already spans mediums television, film, and theater with roles opposite Kevin Bacon, Sarah Jessica Parker, James Gandolfini, amongst others. With credits including roles in The Good Wife, Girls, Sopranos, all the Law & Orders, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, Sex & the City 2, Nickelodeon’s Taina, Maria Full of Grace and many more, this proud born and raised New Yorker has been a part of many iconic series and the list continues to grow. In addition to her on screen credits, Selenis loves the stage and last year wrapped an off-broadway run in the Atlantic Theatre production of Tell Hector I Love Him. Selenis was also seen opposite Viola Davis in the independent feature Custody at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Additionally, Selenis was featured in this year’s Spiderman reboot, the new Netflix series Maniac with Emma Stone, and has just completed a recurring guest role on the new AMC series Dietland with Julianna Margulies.
