In case you haven’t been paying attention to the news lately, Sanford, Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman as he walked through a gated community to his father’s girlfriend’s home. His crime? Unclear, except that Zimmerman called the police to say, “There’s a real suspicious guy. This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something.” The boy was wearing a hoodie and carrying Skittles and iced tea. Martin was on the phone with his girlfriend when, against the advice of local police, he was pursued by Zimmerman and shot dead.

Zimmerman has not been charged or had his license to carry a concealed weapon suspended.

A Million Hoodie rally will be sharing Union Square Park with #Occupy tonight at 6PM. What do you need to do? Wear your Hoodie and show up in Union Square. That is, if you want to get your activism on tonight. Check out this Facebook invite for more info.
