Texas via Taiwan artist Fang has his hands in a little bit of everything – from photography, to illustrations, to working on videos and music with our Texas favorites Dusty, MLKMN, and Royal Highness, among others. A few days ago, on the 20th anniversary of Selena Quintanilla’s passing, he debuted an emoji-inspired illustration of the Forever Legend. Somehow, this flew completely under my radar, but now that I know it exists I’ll be screaming “SELENA EMOJI” from the mountain tops, in the hopes that the Unicode Consortium will add it to the next batch of emojis getting released. I would willingly sacrifice the red dress salsa lady emoji for Selena.
