Last night, Jorge Ramos invited Ann Coulter to be his guest on America With Jorge Ramos, to discuss her new book “¡Adios, America!: The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country Into a Third World Hellhole.” As the book’s title – along with pretty much everything she has ever said in public – evinces, this book is yet another vehicle to spew predictable, half-baked vitriol that will stoke outrage and line her pockets. So why did Ramos essentially help Coulter market these views?

At the show’s outset he explained his decision to speak with her, saying “I’m convinced we have to talk with those who don’t want immigration reform in order to find a long-term solution.” But at this point, Ann Coulter’s history of trolling America is so well-established, as is her total disregard for actual facts, that the possibility of any real dialogue is a joke. Plus, Ramos kind of let Coulter steamroll him for the majority of the interview, backing down every time she barked “HEY I’M STILL TALKING HERE,” at him when he tried to interject with a counterpoint (unlike undocumented activist Gaby Pacheco, who would not allow herself to be shouted down – even after Coulter refused to hug her).

If the point of letting Coulter ramble unchecked was to expose her as the psycho troll she is, then Ramos accomplished his mission. But a quick google search could have told you that she is basically Voldemort.

Was giving Coulter a platform a misstep? Watch the interview below and sound off in the comments.
