Ingrid Betancourt is wasting no time after her liberation. This weekend she joined her compatriota Juanes and Miguel Bose in Paris at a concert dedicated to the estimated 700 people who remain hostage in the jungles of Colombia. The show coincided with Colombia’s independence celebration making for a world-wide day of solidarity. Rallies were held across Colombia and in 40 cities around the world, including Chicago, Miami and New York.

After enduring six years in captivity, Betancourt led the crowd in chants of “freedom for all” as she shook her hips to Juanes jams. Thousands of people from all over the world joined in and painted Paris red, yellow and blue on that night. In case you’re wondering about Shakira, she stayed back home and held another concert in the city of Leticia accompanied by President Uribe, Garcia from Peru and Lula da Silva from Brazil.
