While New York Fashion Week is largely about the clothes, sometimes it’s the accessories that we can’t get out of our heads. At Chromat, it was the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos that models carried that ended up going viral. Tucked into laced-up bungee cords that served as a Cheetos holster (and that we seriously need in our lives), the models paraded Richard Montañez’s most famous creation down the runway. Some even snacked on the spicy treat as they struck a pose.

And though the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos were a nice touch that matched the bright-colored clothes Becca McCharen-Tran created, the real win of the night was the brand’s dedication to diversity. For its Fall 2018 collection, Chromat moved away from its swimsuit looks to incorporate rompers, dresses, and other pieces of clothing, and the runway was a celebration of women you wouldn’t necessarily see on other runways, including Latina plus size model Denise Bidot, breast cancer survivor Ericka Hart, Filipina trans activist Geena Rocero, Kadija Diawara (who wore a hijabi), and 54-year-old model Emme.
