Putting yourself out there is no easy feat. So when Nicolas Fernández’s friends suggested that he build a robot to ask out his crush, he took their advice v. seriously. Nicolas – an engineering student at Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia – got to work as one of his friends posted it all onto Instagram story. Powered by Redbull, he got to work, while his friends made comments. As he got closer to finishing, his friends asked what kind of note he should send: daring or dull? Though we don’t know how the vote turned out, we do know Nicolas chose the daring option: “If I can do this in a break between classes, imagine what I can do on a date?”

With that, Nicolas sent the robot off. In the middle of the conversation the robot hit her on the foot until she realized the slip of paper it carried. Check out the video below to see how it turns out.
