Daddy Yankee Helped a Stranded Stranger Push His Car to Safety on Puerto Rico’s Ruta 66

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria devastating Puerto Rico, reggaetonero Daddy Yankee has already shown how committed he is to helping his island recover. Over the weekend, he donated $100,000 and diesel to Food Bank of Puerto Rico. Now, one Facebook user’s story about Daddy Yankee’s kindness is going viral. Joel Baez Nieves explains that on Saturday night, he stopped on Ruta 66 to help a stranded man. “After that, another person stopped and amidst the darkness, he asked us if everything was all right,” Baez wrote. “And we explained what was happening. That chamaco was #DaddyYankee. He was alone, and he helped us pushed the car and after it didn’t turn on, he helped us park it in a safe place.”

Joel, surprised to learn that someone so successful could be so humble, went on to thank Daddy Yankee and commend him for helping others in their time of need.
