The wonderful, whimsical art collective FriendsWithYou has brought its delightful, forty piece Rainbow City installation to the New York City in celebration of the opening of the second section of the Highline, appropriately entitled Section 2. FriendsWithYou – which, according to its company bio, is “on a mission to spread the idea of Magic, Luck, and Friendship™” – has created an interactive environment of balloon structures, encouraging its visitors to explore and play. Seriously, just looking at pictures of this makes me grin from ear to ear. It’s like being in Willy Wonka’s factory. (And I don’t think it’s a coincidence so many of these things look like mushrooms.)

Our venerable CEO and our graphics guru visited Rainbow City with photographer Javier Romero last Saturday after attending Tego Calderon’s free concert in Washington Heights. This is what happened.

Seriously everyone. Go.
