iBomba returns for the Winter

We got a special surprise in our Facebook invites over the weekend. The Spot alum DJs Beto (pictured above at SOB’s) and Mios Dio’s Summer project, iBomba, which brought the best in alternative Latin DJs to Beauty Bar Brooklyn, is coming back in full force in the dead of Winter. The party’s moved from its original location, however. “iBomba never really went far,” Beto told us, “The summer monthly ended and we took a few weeks off to plot for the new year. That brought us to the legendary Bembe in Brooklyn where I think our sound will find a nice home.” We couldn’t agree more. Just as the party was a monthly over the Summer, iBomba’s residency at Bembe seeks to be a monthly through the Winter, starting tonight, December 12th, at 10PM.

Over the Summer, the party featured the likes of Geko Jones, Cumba Mela, Sazón Booya, Don Severo, and Wonway Possibul. What’s next? “As for guests,” Beto said, “of course you can expect some of the most forward thinking producers and DJ’s in experimental Latin music today. We are confirming some visas, but we’ll be welcoming some out of town friends and local familia alike in 2012.”
