Who: Elisa InsuaΒ is a visual artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina who has found her niche in collecting discarded items such as computer pieces, plastic toys and kid’s jewelry, amongst other things. She literally turns one man’s trash into her own treasure and her pieces are dynamic and vibrant to look at, because there is always something hidden in the cracks, like rustedΒ keys, clothespins or old clocks.

Why You Should Follow:Β Β Insua’s work is inspiring in its ability toΒ transformΒ apparent chaos into something beautiful. Although the range of her pieces might be extremely diverse, their overarching theme is a commentary on the culture of consumerism, religion and excess. She says in a video for AJ+,Β “My artwork is a lot about accumulation…I worked with all kind of materials and its use, the images are always symbols of power, money, consumer society and is also a lot about success and a lot about how we wish to be remembered in history.”
