Who: Alan Del Rio Ortiz is a photographer/director born in Texas and living in Brooklyn. He says he first caught the directing bug when playing around with “the little camcorder my cousins had in Mexico and we’d make all of these clay animation videos.” When he moved to NYC, he got into a social circle with Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, and the rest is history. He most recently directed the video for “Caer,” by one of our favorite artists around here, Buscabulla. Check out some of his other rad videos here.

Why You should follow him: Ortiz’s video directing resume reads like a who’s-who of all the cool kids in the music scene right now. After approaching Hynes to direct a video for him, Ortiz quickly started making a name for himself with his vibrant, clean and unique aesthetic. This has now lead him to direct videos for Solange, Florence and the Machine, Danny Brown, Buscabulla, and St. Vincent, to name a few. His Instagram follows him through his newest projects and tours he is documenting, giving us a glimpse into the dream life, to be honest.
