Vanessa Beecroft and Kanye West’s working relationship spans back to 2008 when Ye reached out to the Italian artist to organize the listening party for 808s & Heartbreak, according to The Fader. Most recently, Beecroft staged West’s debut of his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo, and Yeezy Season three at Madison Square Garden. Before the show took place, Kanye told Beecroft: “I don’t care, just do whatever you want.” So she did.

Beecroft told ArtNews that their relationship grew “gradually,” and it seems to continue moving to bff level, because Beecroft is already working on Kanye’s next music video. Though she didn’t say what song the video would be for, Vanessa revealed that she found a location in Mexico – which ArtNews calls “one of the ancient Aztec pyramids in the Yucatan.” We assume she/they mean a Mayan ruin…since the Aztecs weren’t in that region. Not a great sign.

Hopefully, it goes better for Kanye than it did for Justin Bieber.
