At Monday night’s Met Gala – a night meant to honor 74-year-old Rei Kawakubo and her Commes des Garçons label – La La Vázquez came to make a statement. Just before the gala began, La La posted a picture of herself in her sheer black Thai Nguyen Atelier dress accompanied by the caption “unbreakable” – which we can only interpret as a dig to Carmelo Anthony, who allegedly cheated on the actress.
News of La La and Carmelo’s split came two weeks ago, and this is perhaps her most public outing since. Her head-turning dress might land her on some best dressed lists. But it’s the fact that she also appealed to the pettiest of us that made us root harder for her.
