On Monday, Mexican YouTube newscaster Chumel Torres reported a pretty wild story about 19 year-old physics prodigy, Fernando Rodríguez López, who allegedly wrote such a killer thesis on black holes that Stephen Hawking agreed to sponsor him for a Masters program at the University of Oxford (bypassing undergrad studies altogether because he’s just that chingón).
So far, I haven’t been able to find any other sources that confirm this story – and there’s already a Reddit thread filled with theories about why it’s is a hoax – but I hope it’s true because that would be dope. And if this Fernando turns out to be a fake, we always have Fullerton native Fernando Rojas, the son of Mexican immigrants who was accepted to all 8 Ivy League schools…
