If Natalia becomes a major Selena fan, she’ll be able to pinpoint exactly when she joined the fandom: July 14, 2017 at the ripe age of 14 days old. That day, Sofi Guerra photographed the sleeping newborn in teeny tiny cap with more than 200 Swarovski crystal beads sewed onto the brim. She lays beside a red-tinted microphone and a single white rose.
Guerra and Natalia’s mom, Helen Gallegos, worked to create the cutest Selena tribute. “Something just told me this was going to be different, something told me a lot of people are going to like this picture,” Guerra said, according to My San Antonio. “I wanted to cry, I kind of got chills, because it reminded me of how special Selena [was] to a lot of people.”
Guerra – who along with Gallegos is a life-long Selena fan – sewed the beads on the hat herself. However, she enlisted Off My Hooks – which recreated Selena’s mic with so much accuracy – to create the rest of the props. She asked her followers to not get upset at her for not having these items in her possession sooner. But is it really possible to feel angry when looking at this precious image?
