On Sunday, Barack Obama and his family landed in Havana, Cuba. This marks the first time a sitting president visits the Caribbean island since Calvin Coolidge’s 1928 visit. According to The White House, his visit is the first time Air Force One has landed in Havana.

Ahead of his visit he filmed a segment with Cuban comedian Luis Silva, aka Pánfilo, and he even threw a qué bóla Tweet into the mix. Chief White House photographer Pete Souza and his team have documented Obama and his family’s first trip to Cuba. Here’s what day one looked like:
