While Malia Obama interns for HBO’s Girls, Barack Obama is out to prove that he’s not like other dads, he’s a cool dad. He took his daughters Malia and Sasha to Hamilton, a hip-hop retelling of Alexander Hamilton’s life written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show – the New York Times reports – has a mostly black and Latino cast, and features a rap battle between Thomas Jefferson and Hamilton.

Audience members were not supposed to be using cell phones, but they were all like fuck rules and got their best blurry images of Barack. They weren’t the only ones who were excited. Lin-Manuel shared a video of the three actresses who play the Schuyler Sisters singing about performing for the POTUS. And Lin-Manuel also gave Barack major praise. “It was a real kick to see the first three presidents of the United States onstage while sitting with the current president,” he said, according to the NYT. “He’s in that line.”
