When 3-year-old Estella Westrick’s family traveled from Atlanta to Rome to see Pope Francis, they probably didn’t imagine that CNN would cover their visit. But Estella had different plans. In their brief interaction, a Vatican guide – known as a Papal Gentleman – holds up young Estella so that she could be face to face with Papa Francisco. As he kisses her forehead, she steals his zucchetto right off his head.

“Right before she went up she was a little nervous,” her godfather, Mountain Butorac, told CNN. “Then, she stole his hat. It was hilarious, everyone was laughing including the Pope.

In the adorable video, he tries to stop her and fails. He then lets out a big belly laugh and quickly retrieves his zucchetto. “It’s her first full day in Rome,” Butorac added. “Who knows what she will get up to tomorrow.”

Of course, the internet loved every second of it.

It’s not the first time a kid has snatched the pope’s skullcap. In 2013, a young boy took the zucchetto – though he wasn’t as stealthy. Check out that moment below:
