We don’t want to underestimate the diversity of our readers, but we’re guessing most of you weren’t tuning into the World Series. In fact, the WS didn’t make much of an impact across the ratings scale. But it is not a reason to disregard the amazing performance of the San Francisco Giants, specifically the talents exhibited by Hollywood, CA native Freddy Sanchez.

The 32-year-old continued what has become a blistering postseason performance in game 1 of the 2010 World Series between the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants. He went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles coming in his first World Series at-bats, which is totally a record.

The Giants weren’t expected to reach the World Series, albeit most were completely shocked when they made the playoffs. Truth be told, we’re still shocked. But after yesterday’s game, it’s hard to not pay attention. Most fans are aligning with the “Fear The Beard”, and others are cheering vehemently for the Freak. But, not us. We’ll keep tabs on the vato from LA. Maybe someone will give him a quirky nickname and shirts will be passed around. Sometimes, it’s the only way to truly show your appreciation for a player.
