A cello, an accordion, electronic riffs and Myspace – yes it has Contramano written all over it. The wacky Brooklyn-based ensemble will release a song called “SpaceCotheque” inspired by friend adding on Myspace and New York’s hottest indie throw down, Nacotheque.  You can listen to the new single on their Myspace beginning February 2nd. While you’re there be sure to add them – the bilingual band personally adds and responds to each fan!

Contramano, whose front man Pablo Cubarle hails from Argentina, is making moves. They just headlined a show at the Highline Ballroom that was complete with their signature video displays and occasional bursts into the crowd by Pablo. The group just recently won an online-voting video contest held by FUSE for their Jackson Heights-filmed music video “Contramano” (which you must see after the jump).

They will be playing SXSW in March and of course Nacotheque on el Dia de San Valentin (2/14) to celebrate the release of “SpaceCotheque”. Remezcla will be giving away tix to the show so stay tuned!
