Star Wars and stoners go together like milk and cookies, peanut butter and jelly, or like smoking weed and binging on junk food. It only seems natural that when looking for someone to present an Oscar to the team behind Return of the Jedi, the Academy would call upon America’s most famous potheads, Cheech and Chong. Watch the hilarious video above of the 1984 Oscars (hosted by Johnny Carson), where the perennially confused duo thinks they won an award. Cheech Marin goes on to thank his entire family, “I want to thank the members of the Academy, my mom and dad, Chala, Cheta, Chela, Nono, Nana, Nini, and NooNoo.” Eventually, they hand over the statuettes for Visual Effects to the actual winners, Richard Edlund, Dennis Muren, Ken Ralston, and Phil Tippett for Return of the Jedi.
