An estimated 10,000 HIV-positive Illinoisans (25%) do not know they are infected with HIV. Today marks the global day of remembrance and awareness for AIDS all across the globe. Of the reported 31,376 people living with HIV/AIDS in Illinois 4,398 are Latino.

Go get tested today and take someone you care about with you. Social service agencies in just about every corner of Chicago are offering free testing all day. Joing Caritas Chicago to celebrate World AIDS Day this evening in a city-wide vigil being held in the Lakeview neighborhood. The vigil is a non-religious ceremony in honor of life.
