Who: Raúl Huerta is a Barcelona based artist creating intricate portraits made from paper scraps, canvas, wood and paint. Huerta studied graphic design and his early dark aesthetic slowly transformed into the vibrant portraits he is known for today.

Why You Should Follow Him: His mixed-media portraits show how in touch Huerta is with his art form. The artists who goes by the pseudonym, Ral, has said that the construction of these diverse faces is “like having a dialogue with the viewer.” His most recent exhibit, Naked Under Skin, at Artevistas Gallery in Barcelona, showcased abstract female forms with emphasis on their their eyes. Ral continues, “I try to get into the body of these people, to get past the skin and surface those feelings that everybody has inside.”
