While You Were Watching the Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight, GHE20G0TH1K Was Going Off

RBMA’s annual NYC takeover is how we know spring has officially sprung – and it got off to a good start last weekend with Electronic Africa and a GHE20GOTH1k takeover of the Brooklyn Night Bazaar space. It was the first GHE20GOTH1k we’ve gotten in a minute, after Venus X put the party on an indefinite hiatus last year, and judging by the packed house (the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight didn’t put a dent in attendance) no one wanted to miss what could end up being one of the last GHE20GOTH1ks for a while. It was a night of vogue battles, club music darkness and people serving serious looks. To the man wearing these shoes, please find me and tell me how I can make them mine.

Although the future of the party is unclear, the future of GHE20GOTH1k the Cultural Movement is anything but. In a recent interview with Complex, Venus noted “There’s definitely a lot of projects with the same ethos that I’m working on right now, and they’re music-related and have more to do with objects and creating content as opposed to creating experiences.”
