A little backstory.
A while back, I interviewed Danny Trejo for Remezcla, which was pretty amazing and I found out that the character Machete in Machete is the same character as Machete in Spy Kids. (No, seriously, read the interview.) This was the first my mother had heard of the name Danny Trejo, though she recognized the face and some of his roles. Fast forward about a year, and my mother, at home recovering from oral surgery, came across Machete on TV while I was at work, and decided to text me. I thought I’d share with our readers in the interest of full coverage of Latin filmmakers.
