Rosario Dawson has 95 credits to her name, and it’s often hard to keep up on the amazing projects she’s working on (though if you’d like a starter kit, check out this  list of five roles she nailed). Now, the Nuyorican actress is planning to work alongside the Oscar-winning Jordan Peele on a project that takes a detour towards…the weird.

Weird City is a six-episode anthology series from Jordan Peele and Charlie Sanders detailing the lives of several people who live in the eponymous city, set in a quasi-futuristic timeline. In this world, haves and have nots are divided by “the line” – those who live “below the line,” wash their own clothes at laundromats, while the wealthy “above the line” dine on truffles and are assigned mates at birth. The cast is stacked with the likes of Dawson, Michael Cera, and LeVar Burton, to name a few, though it’s not possible to derive anything about their individual characters based on the trailer. We do see Dawson briefly in silent reaction shots, rocking a headband like she’s in a gym – and plenty of weird shenanigans.

Based on this glimpse so far, Weird City looks like a more humorous take on the types of issues explored in Netflix’s Black Mirror; i.e the intersection of technology and the human condition. If anything, Weird City, premiering on YouTube Premium next month, seems like a direct response to that popular series. With Get Out, Peele showed his ability to infuse social commentary into new genres, so it’ll be interesting to see him tackle sci-fi. According to IMDB Dawson is only listed in one episode, so let’s hope it’s a memorable one.

Weird City premieres on YouTube Premium February 13th.
