Now that summer is slowly winding down, restaurants are reluctantly piling up their al fresco patio furniture, leaving us to search for the next cozy hideaway for us to sip our whiskey as we hibernate through the winter months. In comes Shelter Pizza, which opened its beautiful rustic doors this past weekend in Williamsburg. Brought to you by the team behind two of Williamsburg’s most hip restaurants, Argentine steakhouse El Almacen and Rosarito Fish Shack, the restaurant will be offering a menu of rustic brick-oven pizzas and empanadas which will be served in an Argentina-via-Italy style.

The decor theme of Shelter Pizza takes influences from vintage Americana and Argentine country side, laden with intricate woodwork, antiques, and vintage couches, offering a relaxing, cozy, yet modern touch. The bar will be offering a wide selection of finely packed whiskies to keep you nice and toasty along with a dozen beers on tap. Still in its beginning opening stages, we have a feeling that Shelter is coming right at the perfect time for the season. And if you’re serving oven baked pizza AND empanadas, very little wrong can be done in our book.

Shelter Pizza is now open everyday at 6:00 p.m. at 80 N. 7th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
