RE Taste Test: Rating the Latin Flavors at Brooklyn Cupcake

It’s always a happy friday when we get to taste the delectable cupcakes from Brooklyn Cupcake‘s very Latino friendly menu. Beating the heavyweights in the cupcake game like Crumbs, Magnolia and Baked By Melissa – who all put their own spins on the traditional treat – Brooklyn Cupcake is no frills-all flavor. They were voted the #1 cupcake in NYC by the Daily News and despite their shining review by Zagat we couldn’t help but ask: why aren’t these cupcakes getting more love? And more importantly, how do classic latin treats (like flan or coquito) translate into cupcake form?  To find out we did a highly scientific taste test. Check out our empirically derived ratings below!
