Women
In honor of the 96th anniversary of the passing of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote, the League of Women Voters is hosting an art show and fundraiser. The event features 37 female artists including Indie 184, Marthalicia Matarrita, Marivel Mejia, Giannina Gutierrez, and many more. There will be a silent auction refreshments and music by DJ Pumpkin Friday June 12th from 6 to 10 pm. And Saturday will be an art battle with live painting from 6 to 11pm.

Kawsay
Photographer Raul Espinoza is exhibiting photos taken across Latin America in Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Spain. He is also debuting photos from his recent trip to Thailand. The reception is June 12th from 6 to 9:30pm. All proceed from sales of the artwork will benefit the Coney Island Generation Gap– a program that teaches media production to teens from underprivileged backgrounds.

Bronx Stories: Pride
This Friday the Bronx Museum of the Arts is hosting an open mic for poetry, storytelling and music with the theme of “Pride.” John “Chance” Acevedo, Vanessa Ferreira, and Marilyn Torres will be performing as well as anyone who wants to sign up at the event. The event is from 6:30 to 9pm.
