Wonder Women
Claudia P. Marulanda is showing 13 new pieces of colorful paintings at 188 Grand Street that celebrate women. Her opening will be this Thursday November 12th and will require a $5 donation which will go toward Girls Inc.– a non-profit organization working to empower young girls. Her art party will include live music by Damiyr and Jeneen Terrana as well as yummy pastries from Reposteria El Maestro. The reception is from 7pm to 10pm and you can RSVP here.

Emotional Landscapes
Ignacio de Lucca from Misiones, Argentina is showing elaborate watercolors and paintings of the jungles of Misiones. His work is full of the vibrant colors, patterns, and complex forms of creatures that inhabit the tropical forests and natural environments of Argentina. The opening for the solo exhibit will be this Thursday November 12th from 6 to 8 pm.

Alejandro Puente: A Shifting of the Gaze
Argentinean artist Alejandro Puente was a geometric conceptual artist who began making work in the mid 1960s. He worked in sculpture and 2D arts challenging the mainstream methods of articulating color relations and geometries, and analyzing how systems of information are created. After studying in New York, Puente began making work that referenced various information systems created by native Andean peoples of his country, including their weaving techniques. You can see his work at Henrique Faria until January 9, 2016.
