The end of October is especially eventful in the Remezcla office because we have not one, but TWO skull-filled, death-themed reasons to celebrate: Halloween and Dia de Muertos. We want you to have a bloody good time, so we’ve rounded up the best monster mashes, concerts, pop-up raves and more to check out this year. (And don’t forget our favorite Halloween activity of all – waking up early the next day to watch the best Walks of Shame you’ll see all year…)

Ghost Ship Halloween 2014: Asylum, Oct. 31 and Nov 1 at 9:00 PM

The idea of celebrating Halloween on some kind of boat or cruise sounds like an actual nightmare, but luckily the “Ghost Ship” in this party is more conceptual than literal. Now in its 7th edition, the Ghost Ship party assembles some of SF’s most innovative artists and creative collectives, who come together every year to build a giant ghost ship out of recycled or unconventional materials (each year a different theme — think Viking funeral ships, 18th century pirate ships, wrecked nuclear submarines, etc.).

The installation is built in the space on Pier 70, and complemented by other large scale art pieces, music, drinks, and more. This year, you can enjoy two nights of art and 6 music stages featuring James Lavelle (UNKLE)Afrika BambaataaSpace Cowboys, and Hi Life Thursday’s AfroliciousMore info here.
