Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra died yesterday due to natural causes at age 90. The former Yankee player helped his team reach 14 World Series during his 18 seasons with the team, thus becoming the player with the most World Series games in the history of the MLB. He was also named MVP of the American League on three occasions.

Yet, despite his great accomplishments in the world of baseball, Yogi Berra is perhaps best remembered for his quotes, which were sometimes confusing, but always funny and profound. More than a Yankee player, Yogi Berra sometimes sounded more like Mexican comedian and actor Mario Moreno, better known as Cantinflas.

In order to render a small tribute to a great man, we put together a list of some of Yogi’s most memorable quotes. They remind us that “we should take everything with a grin [sic] of salt.”

1

"The future ain’t what it used to be."

2

"It ain’t over till it’s over."

3

"We made too many wrong mistakes."

4

"If you don’t know where you are going, you might wind up some place else."

5

"Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded."

6

"I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did."

7

"The towels were so thick there I could hardly close my suitcase."

8

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

9

"You should always go to other people’s funerals; otherwise they won’t come to yours."
