Between our love for Walter Mercado and our strict adherence of several New Year’s superstitions, we’re definitely a spiritual bunch. So when the New Year rounds the corner, many of us want to know what lies in the future. After a particularly rough 2018, it’s not astonishing that many of us want a sign than 2019 will treat us better. So as we head into the new year, we’re looking at what Latin America’s spiritual guides predict 2019 will have in store for us. (See how their 2018 predictions turned out here.)

From big changes in Latin America to a bad year for Donald Trump, here’s what they say is in the stars for 2019.

1

Vieira Vidente

Vieira Vidente, who focused specifically on Colombia, said she sees that President Ivan Duque does have good intentions for the country and that he wants to uplift the nation. She sees Colombia, Ecuador, and the United States coming together to potentially remove Nicolás Maduro from power.

2

Mhoni Vidente

According to Mhoni Vidente, 2019 is about reconciliation between god and humans. It’ll be about prosperity and economic fortune, and there will be big political changes coming to Venezuela, Argentina, and Nicaragua. And Mexico will see growth in the business sector.

Walter Mercado

According to Walter, Mother Nature will send us strong signs to take care of the planet. Meanwhile, economic recessions will affect many, but the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe will fare well. Walter also sees 2019 as a year of unity in the United States, as well as one where anti-Semite and neo-Nazi groups surge. As for Donald Trump, Walter calls 2019 his worst year, and says that he may even be removed from office.

Reinaldo dos Santos

Reinaldo dos Santos made 20 different predictions across the world, including that climate change will be a big topic of conversation in 2019. He sees plenty of darkness in the future. In the United States, for example, he sees the violent death of a journalist, which will bring Donald Trump backlash. In Chile, he sees religious conflict take shape and an intense earthquake. And in Brazil, he sees many troubling things happen as we enter the era of Jair Bolsonaro.
