Adding memes to the classroom seems like a teacher’s ill-advised effort at keeping up with the kids, but a Chilean educator has mastered it. According to Semana, Jacqueline Bustamante asked her students to adapt Gabriel García Márquez‘s monumental novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude, into the “language of social media.” Honestly, I couldn’t think of a better way to learn about the incestuous and bloody history of the fictional town of Macondo than through Bad Luck Brian and Homer Simpson.
