Coco is the official source of Halloween inspiration this year. The Pixar movie follows Miguel, a young boy who feels drawn to music, despite the fact that his family forbids it. Through his journey in the Land of the Dead, he learns more about himself and his family. And while the characters quickly captivated Latinos and non-Latinos alike, people didn’t really get a chance to dress up as Miguel and company. In the United States, the film hit theaters on November 22, 2017 – well after Halloween and Día de Muertos.

This year, however, Coco became a major source of Halloween inspiration. (Though we should mention that Día de Muertos is not the same thing as Halloween. It celebrates the lives of those who have passed.) In our search, we’ve seen people of all backgrounds dress as Miguel, Mama Coco, and more. Check out a small sampling of people rocking Coco costumes.
