While there are plenty of standout moments in Hamilton – Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical retelling of Alexander Hamilton’s life – one of the best is undoubtedly the “immigrants: we get the job done” line. These words are so powerful that they inspired a whole new song for the Hamilton mixtape based on the musical. At a time fraught with so much anti-immigrant sentiment from every which direction, “immigrants: we get the job done” directly challenges that narrative.  This year, the Hispanic Federation launched the Immigrants: We Get the Job Done Coalition, which is made up of 12 nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing legal assistance and resources to the immigrant community. In honor of Immigrant Heritage Month, Lin-Manuel started a Prizeo campaign to raise money for the coalition – while simultaneously offering donors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

With a $10 donation, you can enter to win an all-expense trip to Los Angeles to attend the opening night of Hamilton at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. But Miranda also challenged the internet to sing a song (or snippets of a song) from the Broadway hit in the #Ham4All challenge, and celebrities have fully embraced it.

Just like the Ice Bucket Challenge, celebrities are donating money before recording videos of themselves – this time singing songs from the show. They then tag their co-stars or pals and invite them to participate in the challenge. And the results have been pretty amazing. Check out a few videos below, and contribute to the campaign here:
