In the span of a week, Kelvin Peña has made deer bffs, become an internet sensation, and flexed his entrepreneurial muscles. It all started when the 17-year-old visited his cousin, who fed a deer named Canela. “I thought it was really cool,” he told BuzzFeed. “When I got home I saw Money [another deer] in my backyard, walked up to him, and noticed he didn’t run away, so I felt we had a connection. I went inside and grabbed an apple, and he ate it. I expected him to leave but he kept following me.”
Money has come back every day – bringing Canela, Bambi, Lola, and other deer with him. Kelvin started feeding the deer crackers and powdered donuts, and posting videos and pictures of the interspecies friendship. While people loved the equally adorable and hilarious videos, they also criticized him for feeding them junk food. And the Dominican Snow White (what he calls himself) knew he had to do better by his squad. So he began selling tees that read “Everybody Eats,” so that he can “buy them fire healthy food.” (You can purchase the shirts here.)
The best way to enjoy this friendship is in chronological order. So check out how Kelvin, Money, Canela, Bambi, and Lola became a family below:
