After conjuring up characters like Pale Man, Reaper, and The Faun, Guillermo del Toro has rightfully earned the nickname “Master of Monsters.” There’s something about his creations that’s instantly recognizable. And while that’s normally a good thing and a testament to his work, it can also have its downsides. When a creepy, humanoid wolf was reported as the new Lobos Buap mascot, people immediately thought it was GdT’s work.

While the tall creature won’t actually be the team’s mascot, it’ll be around in the stadium – and that’s enough to bring some children nightmares. It also hasn’t stopped people from asking if GdT designed the mascot. The director has adamantly denied that he had anything to do with it.
