Eloteros and paleteros, like many other street vendors, are the heart of many Latino communities. That’s why it’s not surprising that come Halloween, people pay tribute to these unsung heroes. And at a time when street vendors continue to face harassment and abuse, it’s a small way for us to stand in solidarity with them.

Though no one could ever replace our beloved eloteros and paleteros, we’d probably lose it if we saw baby eloteros roaming the streets. This Halloween, we’ve noticed a few kids dressed up as our favorite vendors and they have absolutely melted our hearts.
