As a kid, Diego Luna and his Darth Vader action figure were inseparable. When watching Star Wars movies, Luna felt drawn to the Dark Side. So when he bought his first Star Wars toy, he naturally picked the lightsaber wielding Darth Vader. The dolls never left his side. “I felt that he was my best friend,” Luna told El País. His close relationship with the action figure is probably why Luna’s perfected the Darth Lord’s mechanical breathing.
Now that the Mexican-born actor is officially part of the Star Wars Universe as Cassian Andor – an intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance – he’s found himself on the opposite side of his childhood hero in the Galactic Civil War. But as Diego learned a while ago, one of the perks of joining the Star Wars family is being immortalized through merch. Ahead of the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Hasbro released a six-inch Andor action figure.
