With his new movie, Operation Finale, set to debut this week the world was already prepping to swoon over the internet’s boyfriend Oscar Isaac. But on Sunday night, Twitter lost its collective mind when an article popped up on Geeks Worldwide’s Omega Underground site stating “sources” told them Isaac had met with Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves about a role in The Batman. There is absolutely zero beyond that with subsequent articles and speculation drawing from this initial piece, all of which cite unnamed sources reportedly close to production and saying the Guatemalan-Cuban-American actor is “very interested.”

It’s important to note that there’s absolutely no confirmation from any of the parties involved regarding this. Reeves himself has said he’s still in the scripting phase on the project, and with Batman star Ben Affleck previously questioning whether he’d appear in the film before going to rehab earlier this week, there’s still a lot left up in the air. It would certainly be interesting to see Oscar Isaac pop up in this franchise (and hopefully it would be better than his appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse.)

The mere mention of Isaac associated with the Batman series has drawn all sorts of speculation on social media, with people questioning whether he’s set to wear the cowl as the Caped Crusader himself or just play one of the many rogues associated with the character. Regardless, the internet lost its collective mind and Remezcla has some of our favorites to keep you guessing while we wait for confirmation.
