Just a few hours ago, actors and directors all over the world were being roused from their sleep, or turning in for the night, with some very good news: they had been nominated for a Golden Globe. Of course, we scoured the nominees for our compas, and were delighted to find that chilango Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu leads the pack with seven nods for his tragicomedy Birdman. And this year’s breakout star Gina Rodriguez got a Best Actress nom for her work on the year’s best reviewed new show, Jane the Virgin, which incidentally has been nominated for Best TV Comedy.
The rest of the Latino nominees include award show stalwart Louis C.K. and the movie that saved El Dia de Muertos from Disney, The Book of Life. The Golden Globes will air on January 11 and we’ll be watching (maybe even live-tweeting), so we hope you’ll join us in celebrating our fellow Latinos. (Let’s just hope we don’t see a repeat of the rotisserie move from the Emmys.)
