From #LaChonaChallenge to #MatildaChallenge: The Best Takes on the “In My Feelings” Challenge

Drake‘s “In My Feelings” is still the no. 1 song in the country, and its success is due in no small part to Queens-born comedian Shiggy, who launched the flood of memes that’s been dominating our timelines this summer. By now, it’s a tale as old as time itself:  Shiggy posted a video on Instagram dancing to the Scorpion track with the hashtag #DoTheShiggy on June 29, officially launching the viral challenge that’s been attempted by everyone from Will Smith to Thalia. Drizzy himself paid tribute to the dance craze in the official video for “In My Feelings,” whose credits featured clips from celebrities and dogs doing the challenge.

And of course, the meme has already spawned a million different iterations in Latin America and here in the U.S., with people taking plenty of creative liberties. There’s #LaChonaChallenge, which is set to the Los Tucanes de Tijuana’s “La Chona,” another version riffing off a classic scene in Matilda, and plenty of clips with animals from the campo.
