The earthquake that shook central Mexico on Tuesday, September 19 has left at least 230 dead and hundreds more injured, with far-off communities in Puebla and Morelos receiving the worst damage. Although relief efforts are underway, the road to recovery will be a long one.

In Mexico City, citizens have come together to volunteer for relief efforts onsite, digging though the rubble and looking for survivors. Others have been gathering food, water, and supplies for those affected in farther areas, as well as transporting those goods to the people who need them.

As citizens, musicians of all stripes have come together to support the cause through music. Below, we list a few benefit shows happening in across Latin America and the U.S. that will benefit those affected by these tragic events.

In addition to these shows, there are other ways of supporting the victims through music. Mexico City-based experimental label Umor Rex will donate all their proceeds from purchases on Bandcamp to the Mexican Red Cross until October 15. Likewise, Mondragón will gift a vinyl copy of their latest album Presentimiento to anyone who will donate 500 pesos to a relief organization.

If you live abroad, consider making a donation to the Topos rescue organization. For other ways to help and donate, visit Como Ayudar.

We’ll be updating this list with more information on events as they are announced, so check back for more fundraisers soon.
