Álvaro Díaz has achieved a lot in the past few years, thanks to his relentless work and dedication, and his schedule won’t be clear any time soon.

Take this week for example. Álvaro dropped a mixtape titled Hato Rey, a sort of greatest hits compilation that gathers the bulk of his output previously only heard on his Soundcloud page. Hato Rey demonstrates his wide range, from the complex and ambitious opener “La Milla De Oro” to the more radio friendly (but no less impressive) “Las Chicas De La Isla”; all with top notch production courtesy of the young and brightest beatmakers the island has to offer, as well as collaborations with Füete Billete, Joyce Santana and PJ Sin Suela. Hato Rey is available right now through iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play; if you are in Mexico, you can order the physical release through Kichink.

Additionally, Pulse Beat just named Díaz the best Latin emcee at SXSW, thanks to his stage presence and modern sound. Not content with just reaping accolades, Álvaro will finish his weekly series #JuevesDeLvCiudvd with a track that will premiere exclusively at Remezcla. Titled “Impala,” it’s a collaboration with Cosculluela, so be on the lookout for it this Thursday.
