Dominican-Trinidadian rapper Cardi B has been racking up collabs over the past couple months. Her Bruno Mars “Finesse” remix, Migos “Motor Sport” moment, and an upcoming verse on Chris Jeday’s “Ahora Dice” remix show she’s slowly becoming the music industry’s go-to feature for new singles.
The latest artist to tap Belcalis Almanzar for a new track is none other than Jennifer Lopez. Back in January, when the two played Los Angeles’ massive Calibash concert, J.Lo performed a medley that featured “Bodak Yellow” and an unreleased track titled “Dinero.” Cardi gushed over the shout out on Instagram. “This is a Bronx girl dream,” she wrote. “I just can’t believe it…The mother @jlo.”
Back in December, Alex Rodriguez teased the collaboration between Cardi and J.Lo on Instagram live, when DJ Khaled and Lopez were working in a studio. In the clip, J.Lo asks DJ Khaled, “Cardi’s just on that one part. Do you think we should do some ad-libs with her?”
Today, J.Lo officially confirmed the song’s release to Latina.com. “I feel like you already know that I collaborated with Cardi B. I do have a record coming out with her and it’s coming out soon. The name of the song is ‘Dinero.’ I don’t know what the video is going to be yet but we’ll see what we come up with,” she said in an interview.
Check out a snippet of the song from J.Lo’s Calibash performance on January 20, and keep an eye out for the Bronx legends’ collab, coming soon.
