2017 is here, which means music fans can look forward to a whole month of festival announcements. One of the first fests to announce this year was Coachella, which is set to take over Indio, California for two weekends on Friday, April 14-16 and April 21-23 this spring. It features an epic lineup that includes performances from Beyoncé, Future, and Gucci Mane all in one day. Even though this schedule is a breath of fresh air from the big name EDM acts we often see headline major corporate fests, the Latinx and Hispanic artists remain few and far between. This year’s fest includes psych soul crusaders Chicano Batman, Mexico City garage punks Los Blenders, and Madrid indie darlings Hinds. Freak folk artist Devendra Banhart, Bronx-born DJs The Martinez Brothers, Chilean producer Nicolas Jaar, and Lusophiles Sofi Tukker are also set to perform.
While we’re hype to catch Travis Scott alongside Queen B, here’s hoping more Latinx artists take the stage in 2018.
Festival passes for both weekends go on sale at the Coachella website on Wednesday, January 4 at 11 a.m. PST. Check out the full lineup below.
Update, 3/9/2017: Colombian group Diamante Eléctrico has been added to the Coachella line up.
