Are you ready for the takeover?

Techno-feminist collective DISCWOMAN is headed to San Juan later this month for a two-stop tour, bringing their rapidly-expanding platform “showcasing the wealth of female-identified DJ talent in the electronic music community.”

The collective hosted their first showcase at Brooklyn’s tropical rave destination Bossa Nova Civic Club last September with nightlife establishments Lauren Flax, Shannon Funchess (Light Asylum), Lauren Dillard, and more on the decks. Thanks to the swift success of this party, the collective quickly moved to begin touring in cities along the Northeast, most recently with a stop in Philly hosted by Factory Girls.

The lineup for DISCWOMAN brings together eight women from NYC, Miami, and Puerto Rico’s underground circuits: Uchi (Miami), Volvox (BK), Gera (PR), Lady Liquid (PR), Ana Lola Roman (BK), Umfang (BK), Fiasco (BK/PR), and Payola Isabel (PR).

Catch them February 27th at San Juan’s ONE BAR and March 1st at beachside venue Café la Plage. A portion of the proceeds from the party will go to Proyecto Matria, a PR-based organiziation dedicated to supporting female victims of violence. Keep an eye out for spring dates in Boston, San Francisco, Detroit, Kansas, Seattle, Los Angeles, and cities throughout Europe.
