It’s no secret that LA’s latin rock scene is not what it once was. The scene was a wild, fun and interesting one during the late ’90s and early ’00s. Thankfully, for those of us who still reminisce about the Conga Room before its move to downtown, there are groups such as El Sonido Callejero that still wave the LA latin rock banner.

Callejero, featuring Arturo “El Director” Hernandez, Alejandro “Sargento Susej” Hernandez, and Ozzie “El Matador” Garcia, has been around for only three years but they’ve already got two releases under their belt.

La Fuerza Humana is their latest EP, a six-track of accordion-centric latin rock. Think of it as norteña with a beret or punk with botas picudas. There’s a positive message floating around the ska horns and guitar solos.
